Have you ever felt heavy with emotion?

Heavy enough that breathing is strained.  You can’t move with ease.  Stuck.

Like you have a heavy, dark cloak on.  It covers your entire body.

Feels like it’s made of metal – a metal cloak to hold you down.

Cumbersome.  Weighted.  Uncomfortable.

Darkness.

You want to drop it from your shoulders.  Let it clang onto the ground.

So you can escape.

You know what might be easier?

Allow it to be there.

All those different emotions.  Or the very difficult single emotion.  Whatever is heavy on your shoulders.

You might try sitting down, cross-legged like when you were very young.

Let the cloak surround you.  A teepee of metal.

A protection.

Make room for the heavy emotion.  Sit in your teepee and breathe.

And be.

Let its heaviness teach you.
