Most people wish to avoid change. One of the unavoidables of life, it comes anyway.
Through destruction.
Or through creation.
Changes knocks on our door. It can be such an unwelcome visitor.
Bringing a suitcase of unwanted things we must face: death, failure, unsteadiness, fear.
Or we can welcome it in – the door swung open in anticipation. Even excitement. Newness, life, success, unsteadiness wrapped in desire, awareness, courage.
Always there is courage. The foundation.
It gives us our footing. Roots our feet into the ground.
Cheers us to reach up to the sky – to touch dreams or to release our desperation.
In all of life’s changes, its ebbs and flows, there’s the need for courage.
It can awaken us, leave us breathless and hoping. Never giving up. Trusting the endurance.
Make courage your foundation, and even when you can’t find it, it will find you.
It will knock on your door, asking that you get up, pull on your work boots and get ready to stand amidst destruction. Or get out your hammer and nails, your canvas and paints, your pen and paper, your soil and seeds… get ready to create.
I choose to face life’s challenges, co-exist with society with a non-violent, encouraging attitude, and die after my life expectancy. We are all blessed to be on this earth. We should show in all our actions just how grateful we are for this blessing.
I love that, Steve – you’re right, we are all so blessed. I also agree that showing gratitude, especially for the day-to-day things we can overlook, even for LIFE! That is so important and powerful. Thanks for sharing. :)
